Sponsor a Need
FPR runs on specific, real needs — not abstract fundraising goals. When you sponsor a need, you fund something that exists, has a price, and will be used. You can see what you’re supporting before you commit, and we tell you when it’s done.
This is not a donation in the traditional sense. It is a direct contribution to a specific material or operational need on the ground in Pound, Virginia.
What Gets Funded
Current and recent categories of sponsorable needs include:
- Aggregate and road materials — The Sovereign Artery requires specific aggregate tonnage to reach permanent grade. Each ton has a price and a measured result.
- Work tools and equipment — Gloves, safety gear, hand tools, and equipment that enables volunteers and residents to do real work safely.
- Meals and provisions — Feeding people who show up to work on the mountain is infrastructure. Consistent meals reduce turnover and honor the labor.
- Digital access and equipment — Refurbished laptops, charging stations, and connectivity tools that give veterans and residents access to the digital economy from a mountain with real broadband challenges.
- Mentor materials — Books, supplies, software, and tools that enable skilled volunteers to teach effectively.
- Quiet dignity support — Basic human necessities for people in transition. Defined on a case-by-case basis with care and specificity.
How It Works
Send a Sponsor Inquiry to [email protected] with what you want to support or ask what’s current. Mike or Abbe will respond with a specific need, a cost, and confirmation when it’s fulfilled.
There is no portal. There is no pledge system. There is a person who will answer your email and tell you exactly what your contribution will do.
Transparency
FPR is building toward a formal impact receipt system — a documented record of what each contribution funded and what it produced. That system is not yet in place. What is in place is a commitment to honesty: we will tell you what the money went to, and we will not spend it on anything else.
