How it runs
Freedom's Purchase Ranch is not a nonprofit waiting for donors. It is a sovereign operating environment — land held in trust, infrastructure owned outright, income generated from the products we grow and make.
The operational spine is a local-first technology stack we built ourselves: AI-assisted field intelligence, ecological data capture, automated content and product workflows, and a grant intelligence system that matches our work to federal and state funding programs. We call it the Sovereign OS.
What IaaRS means
IaaRS: Infrastructure as a Refuge System. The idea is simple: the most durable form of refuge is infrastructure you control. Not a shelter bed. Not a voucher. Land, tools, knowledge, and community — held in a structure that cannot be foreclosed, sold, or taken away.
Every system we build on this land is documented and designed to be replicated. The build generates the curriculum. The curriculum becomes the next ranch.
Revenue streams
- Nature Heals — small-batch botanical products: salves, tinctures, teas, from the apothecary garden
- Ridge Collection — apparel printed on demand through Printify, designed by Abbe, shipped from the ranch's Printify partner
- Grants — AMLER, ARC POWER, EPA Brownfields, USDA rural programs — we have active applications and an automated grant intelligence system scanning for new opportunities
- The Sovereign Node Starter Kit — coming: a digital product teaching others how to build their own sovereign operating environment

Social Return on Investment is our north star metric. We measure every dollar in against the verified social value created — jobs, ecological restoration, education hours, housing stability, and community health outcomes. The current ratio is 7.2:1. That number is audited, not estimated.
