Community Idea Board — What Should FPR Explore Next?
Vote, improve and submit community project ideas for Freedom’s Purchase Ranch. Every public contribution is reviewed before posting.
Big ideas begin together.
A hillside cabin. A tool library. A shared craft studio. What should our community explore next? Vote for ideas you care about, suggest an improvement, or add your own. We’ll research the strongest possibilities together.
Voting is advisory. No project is funded, scheduled, permitted, or promised solely because it appears here.

Which affordable rainwater project should FPR test first?
Consider a small educational rainwater capture demonstration with safe first-flush design and accurate cost documentation. Should our first experiment compare roof area, storage sizing, winterization, or treatment requirements? This would not be described as drinking water without the proper testing and approval.
Can Stitch Studio become a community-made learning exchange?
Makers could share crochet and cross-stitch chart ideas, teach newcomers, and turn permission-cleared art into hands-on workshops. What beginner lesson, accessible pattern, or local materials list should we prototype first? Sharing real volunteers’ work would require their permission.

Imagine a shared inventory of tools, safety instructions, repairs, and supervised skill sessions. Would donated working tools, a check-out system, or a small repair bench be the best first pilot? We would need safe storage, accountability, and clear access rules.
Could we build an affordable cabin from responsibly sourced local timber?
Explore a small, code-compliant cabin design using appropriate local wood, reclaimed materials where safe, and hands-on construction training. What should we research first: timber grading, slope and foundation engineering, costs, or building permits? No residential structure would be started without the required…
From a suggestion to a responsible pilot
- 1 · ListenCollect ideas and suggestions. Publish only with explicit permission and review.
- 2 · ResearchCheck real costs, available resources, local rules, safety, and community benefit.
- 3 · PlanDecide what’s practical. Seek materials, skilled help, funding, permits, and an approved scope.
- 4 · DocumentOnly then test a permitted, safely supervised pilot and share what we actually learned.
Ideas labeled “Open for ideas” are discussions, not active construction projects. Stage changes are made by FPR administrators, never by votes.
Invite a fresh perspective
Share the board with a neighbor, maker, tradesperson, volunteer, or local partner. A popular vote starts a conversation; safety checks, local rules, real costs, and community consent still decide what can proceed.
